ABOUT US

about

Keith Warner MSc. MCSP began the operation of the Hull Sports Medicine Centre in 1992, using the Boulevard as a base, where he was employed as the physiotherapist for Hull FC. The clinic was then moved to within the Canons health club, where the clinic continued to provide physiotherapy services for many local teams in numerous sporting disciplines; including Hull FC, Hull City, Hull Stingrays, Great Britain Rugby League and GB Ice Hockey, as well as offering sports rehabilitation to the public.

To expand the services at the clinic and having developed a strong interest in exercise science during his role at The Football Association, which involved fitness testing elite sportsmen, he completed a Masters degree in Health Related Exercise Science. Warners was subsequently created as a combined physiotherapy, rehabilitation and health-related exercise clinic in 2002, occupying the whole of the former Costello Sports Centre in what is an ongoing partnership with Hull City Council.

The centre operates at the cutting edge of health & exercise science, and is proud of its reputation of providing a friendly but knowledgeable service at an extremely affordable price. We offer a comprehensive range of health related interventions including physiotherapy, manual therapy and dietary/weight management. The services are provided by a range of professionally qualified staff, which includes physiotherapists, exercise scientists, rehabilitators and manual therapists. Rehabilitation is available for a large range of musculoskeletal, neurological and cardiac conditions. Measurement, evaluation and audit are a very important principle in the management of the centre's rehabilitation programs, a range of strength, balance and fitness testing equipment is used.

The importance of health-related activity has become ever-more important in the drive to prevent and as treatment for lifestyle problems such as obesity, high-blood pressure, and inactivity in both adults and children. The high-prevalence of these conditions in society has unfortunately been well-documented. As such, the creation of the Warners site allows the staff to provide health-related activity along with their Hull City Council partners, for a wide-range of conditions.

Off-site products include various patient educational seminars and workplace interventions in the form of formal lectures and a comprehensive 'Corporate Health Screening' service. Clearly healthy employees are productive, happy and motivated employees. The company provides a range of health screening/corporate exercise advice to various national and more local employers.

Future direction includes improved partnership agreements with the Hull City Council and related local government departments, for example, Humberside Police, mainstream health providers; GP's, Primary Care & Health Trusts and occupational health departments. Long term plans include the development of hydrotherapy services and operation from several sites in the Hull region.
