EXERCISE TESTING
Our range of health science testing products can accurately measure your current health status and assist you in achieving your goals, ensuring that your exercise and diet are as effective as possible.
Whether you are an elite trainer or are just getting back into exercise, understanding your true status can help you ensure you achieve your goals whether they be performance, fitness, health or weight management.
Sports & Exercise Testing
Obtain a true picture of your current fitness with our battery of VO 2 sub-max, strength, flexibility and body composition tests. Regardless of your sport/activities, your endurance, flexibility and strength can have a large influence on performance.
The only way to truly measure your aerobic fitness is to perform an exercise test using gas analysis, which gives you your VO 2 max. This is a measure of your level of oxygen consumption.
Do I need to know what my level is?
Your aerobic fitness can largely influence your performance in most sports and your daily-living activities. Higher VO 2 values are also associated with lower risks of cardiovascular disease.
How do I find out my level?
The test takes around 10 minutes and is performed on either a cycle-ergometer or treadmill. Your results can then be interpreted and feedback given immediately. Repeat tests should be performed to give you a picture of your fitness over time.
What zone should I train in?
The VO 2 test can also provide useful information on which zones you should train in, depending on your goals. It will allow you to get the most out of your heart rate monitor.
You can also supplement your VO2 test with strength, flexibility and lung function to provide an all-round assessment of your fitness
Dietary Management
Discover what your daily calorific requirement is by measuring your resting metabolic rate. We can then calculate how much you need to eat in order to manage your weight effectively.
Cardiovascular Risk Analysis
Assess your current wellness and risk of cardiovascular disease. Our analysis involves total cholesterol testing, blood pressure testing, glucose, physical activity assessment and lifestyle evaluation.
Footscan Gait Analysis
A Footscan can help diagnose any mechanical problems which may be the cause or contribute to your injuries such as Achilles tendonitis, shin splints or knee pain. The data can be used to determine running-shoe type, prescribe orthotics and test balance.
Do you know what type of running shoes you should wear?
The Footscan can accurately determine whether you require motion control, neutral or cushioned shoes. This can significantly help in the prevention and management of injury.
Balance Testing
All injuries result in a reduction in balance, caused by the loss of muscle strength and support. A sway test can be used as a measure to monitor the extent of this loss, and its' recovery through rehabilitation.
