Study Options

  • 2 days per week for 30 week.
  • 2 evenings per week for 80 weeks.
  • 5 full day per week for 5 weeks.

Sports Massage

Sports massage is a term applied to a discipline of using massage for a specific benefit of all sports and exercise participants.

It covers the management, manipulation and rehabilitation of soft tissues of the body e.g. muscles, ligaments and tendons.

Sports Massage should be tailored to each individuals needs to positively enhance ones ability to perform.

Course structure

Home study and practice between workshops. Approx 25% theory and 75% practical.

  • Pre and Post event massage
  • Strapping techniques
  • Remedial exercise
  • First aid on the sports field

  • Exercise physiology
  • Injury treatment and rehabilitation
  • Professionalism and ethics

Qualifications gained

  • FA 1ST AID FOR SPORT
  • LEVEL @ BODY MASSAGE
  • LEVEL3 SPORTS MASSAGE

Entry requirements

  • An active involvement in some sport, dance or exercise activity.
  • An appropriate knowledge of biology/anatomy and physiology.
